Film Project Assignment
Film Project Assignment.
For the film project we learned different techniques to bring the film, we was assign to do, to life.
one of the techniques I use was cluster chords to bring tension to the audience and a sense of warning that something going to happen. we had to do a course on a composer and what he/she did. I picked Henry Jackman. he was the one who Composed wreak-it-Ralph and x man first class.
We had a meeting with the drama student to talk about what they want in there film. they told my group they wanted something scary for one part of the film and for the rest we should think of what to do. I did the scary part on logic also the motif for one of the characters. one other of my group member did the theme for the film. on logic i also put in a fly sample and pan it to make it seem like its in the room and not just a sound coming from the film i got this idea from Morricone.this worked because everyone in the room looked around
For the performance we did to live gigs and we improvised on the film only a tiny bit. for our 2 live gigs i played piano with the string sample to give it more tension.in our last gig Lamare and Oscar sang and rap a song they made. they were talking about spies and how they need to lay low. It work because we all come together and worked as a team and shared our thoughts and opinion. Musician it work because we had go communication with one another.

henry jackman
Henry Jackman
collaboration: henry jeckman collaborated with many direction like:Matthew Vaughn,Rich Moore, etc.
training: he want to studied a st puals cathedral to learn classical music.
style of film: henry Jackman composed to different type of theme genre. from action films to period dramas to family films.
Achievement:
awarded for best film music
how is he different to other composers: He not that different to other composers but in wreck it Ralph he did a lot of motif with different character and places the characters end up. For example when the royal race was about to start the soundtrack fit in perfectly with the surrounding of where the race was going take place. It's a happy soundtrack and when you look at the place everyone looks happy. Because this film has a lot to do with game he done most of his soundtracks in 8-bit how this communicates with the audience is by letting them know this is a film to do with a lot game.Henry Jackman also composers for video game where he got most of his ideas for wreck it Ralph.
Compared to his other film he composed, like x men first class, he dose not use 8-bit at all. instead he use orchestra to show the intensity of every scene. For example when Shaw fired the missiles to the ships Henry built up the tension the missiles was about to hit the ship.
In conclusion Henry Jackman use different technique to communicate with the audience in different ways and in different senses.
